PugliaBikeHire deliver bikes to your villa on a Monday and collect them on the following Friday (there may be some flexibility on delivery/collection dates). They have a fleet of what are best described as City bikes. They are suitable for men and women from a height of about 5ft. They have six gears, large touring wheels and they are perfect for cycling round the lanes. They are not suitable for off road cycling. They also have some MTB style bikes with male and female frames. They are suitable for off road although there isn’t a great deal of it in Puglia, but they are also very suitable for the country lanes.Also available are two unisex children’s bikes, suitable for 6 to 12 year olds.
All bikes are fully checked over before they are delivered and come with a helmet and a lock. They do not have lights and we do not advocate cycling at night. The country roads are very dark and do not have street lights and Italian drivers have been known to drive quite quickly which is not a safe combination. It costs £60 per week for an adult bike complete with helmet, puncture kit, delivery and collection.

PugliaInBici.com are based in Monopoli, north of Brindisi and south of Bari. Bicycles (road or hybrid) can be collected from them or delivery (additional charge) can be arranged. Rental includes lock, repair kit, multi-use key, front bag/ map case, hand pump and bike computer. Prices (subject to confirmation with PugliaInBici) are as follows :

• 3 days €60/€120 tandem             Each additional Day €15/€30 tandem
• 4 days €80/€160 tandem            Security deposit €500 (or credit card hold)
• 5 days €100/€200 tandem          Approved helmet €10 (flat rate)
• 6 days €120/€240 tandem          Child's seat €10 (flat rate)
• 7 days €120/€240 tandem          side bags €6/day or €25/week

Salentotime also offer guided bicycle tours (minimum 4 people) Leaving from Lecce by minibus (9 seats and air-conditioning) to the departure place for the trip that can be arranged together.
